Alpha Dog - Vintage Distortion
The Alpha Dog combines the warmth and sag of tube saturation with the teeth of a modern distortion pedal. Built on the esteemed LM308N chip, the Alpha Dog expands its tone options by adding our unique HCC circuitry. The HARD & SOFT controls provide an infinite continuum of voicings, from bluesy breakup, to aggressive grunge, to stoner rock (or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days) and much, much more.
POWER - Accepts the industry standard, 9 to 18 VDC, negative-tip power supply.
Controls
LEVEL - controls the output of the pedal
GAIN - controls the amount of gain/distortion in the circuit
FILTER - This control is a simple high-cut filter. Turn counterclockwise to cut highs.
FAT - Clockwise = more gain, bigger bottom end. Counterclockwise = less gain, tighter bottom end.
HARD - This clipping control transitions from vintage (V) to twin (T).
SOFT - This clipping control transitions from germanium (G) to mosfet (M).
INTERNAL CONTROL - The bottom trimpot affects the brightness of the LED.
